I’ve had several thoughts rumbling around in this stay-at-home mom head of mine regarding a few things in pop culture/Hollywood and I feel the need to expel them. Mind you, this is all completely superficial…I am completely aware of this.
1. I recently saw Courtney Cox on a talk show. Does anyone else find it difficult to look at her? I always thought she was so beautiful and then she went and did who knows what with plastic surgery and she just looks, I don’t know…weird. And it’s awkward to watch her.
2. You know that song, “Love You Like A Love Song” by Selena Gomez? Ridiculous. Whenever I’m driving in the car and it comes on, I always call Michael {much to his chagrin} and blare it…making a total mockery of it {Sorry, Selena}. Now, I’m not the music critic in the family. That spot’s reserved for the Mr. But this song just doesn’t make any sense to me. And I find it so silly. Buuuuut, I always end up leaving it on because it *is* fun to car dance along to.
3. Parenthood. The interweb has been ablaze with *Team Mark* or *Team Hank* buzz. I recently read a friends status on facebook asking people which man they sided with. Last I read the post, every single person was Team Hank. I just don’t get it. Yes, he is closer in age to Sarah. But that’s about the only plus I see to him. {See? Told you I was blogging about *really* important stuff today.} I’m officially casting my vote…Team Mark. And as I write this, I see our red DVR light on recording the season finale…I guess I’ll see which one wins out in the end soon enough.
4. Ryan Gosling. Michael and I both have a crush on him. And if you haven’t seen them, there are enough “Hey Girl” pictures floating around on Pinterest and online here {or here …you know what, just google *ryan gosling hey girl* and you’ll get a gazillion of them. You’re welcome.} to make me feel like we are not alone in this crush. I laughed out loud at *several* of these. So, if you’re needing a chuckle, even if you don’t share our Ryan love, surely these will be the medicine you are looking for. Here are a few of the memes that came up as soon as I googled it {fact: I just learned that word this week from my trendy husband and wanted to use it in a blog…mission accomplished.}.
5. Superhero movies. In the past few weeks, we’ve watched Captain America, The Avengers and Thor. I’m not gonna lie, I’m a big fan. I never saw myself as a superhero kind of gal, but we watched these movies waaaaaay past my 8:30pm bedtime and they kept me wide awake.
Ok, that’s it. Off to watch who won Sarah’s heart.

I feel REALLY old right now…I don’t think I knew anything about any of the topics that you wrote about. I do, however, know the sticker price of most colleges, the NCAA rules on recruiting (all divisions, mind you), how to control your emotions when your kids tell you they want to date someone or breakup with someone…as well as a host of other painful topics. I’m thinking your blog is much more fun than mine would be if I had one!!! Ha! Xo
Sista…I’m going to be coming to you in about 10 years when I’m trying to figure out how to get my kid to go to a $40,000/year school for mere pennies! At least your topics are useful…
